Domestic runners are required to register with the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications said, this is taking into account the increasing demand for domestic runners among the public. It is also a measure to safeguard the location and well-being of the business sector for domestic runners as well as the public while the country is facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib said domestic runners are those providing domestic services in the country either full time or part time. Individuals providing private runner services to the public, home based businesses and registered companies such as restaurant and others. Individuals working as staff under registered companies providing runner services or staff tasked with delivery services under registered companies such as restaurants, supermarkets or other businesses. Transport operators with Cross-Country Permits during COVID-19 situation which was issued by the Prime Minister's Office are advised and required to identify and differentiate between transport operators and domestic runners. Staff working as domestic runners are required to register under the company.
