Officially introduced in May 2020 by the Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, BruneiHealth started out as a one-stop mobile application that provides a virtual platform to control the COVID-19 outbreak in Brunei Darussalam through digital contact tracing and QR Code Scan for entering and leaving premises. The integration of BruHealth and BruHims enables the application to be further developed to become a health management application for the citizens and residents with a much wider function.
The BruHealth application is able to determine the user’s health status and mapping high risk locations in the country. Now, the BruHealth’s focus is shifting towards becoming a digital health application with various useful health features. These include an access to personal health records, online appointment for COVID-19 vaccination and health management such as the ‘BN on the Move’ initiative. Currently, over 500,000 individuals are using the BruHealth application, with more than 200.000 using it everyday.
