Cordillera Region Reports Significant Reduction in Crime Rates

CORDILLERA - The Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCor) announced a notable decrease in crime volume by 11 percent in the last year compared to 2022. According to records obtained from PROCor, the region saw a reduction to 3,805 criminal incidents last year, down from 4,276 in 2022. The Cordillera region, encompassing 73 municipalities and two cities, witnessed 37 of its towns achieving a record of zero crimes reported.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PROCor director, the decline in crime rates is attributed to enhanced police presence and initiatives across the region. "We also regularly remind our men on the field to be visible in the communities any time of the day as a deterrent against criminal elements," Peredo stated. Furthermore, the region has seen improvements in crime solution efficiency and crime clearance efficiency, surpassing their respective targets with 84.34 percent and 97.95 percent.
