Post: BETCON23 Launched to Bolster Post-Pandemic Recovery in Trade, Tourism, and Investment within BIMP-EAGA

JERUDONG — The BIMP-EAGA Trade Convention 2023, also known as BETCON23, was launched on the afternoon of October 26th at Bridex Hall. The convention aims to answer the call made by BIMP-EAGA Leaders for the private sector to take a more significant role in guiding the region's post-pandemic recovery, especially in trade, tourism, and investment.

According to a new release by the Radio Television Brunei, the launching ceremony was officiated by the Minister at The Prime Minister's Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah. In his keynote address, he noted that the recently concluded 26th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting and Related Meetings were encouraged by the region's positive economic indicators, including a growing combined real Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

BETCON23 was organized in conjunction with the 26th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meetings and Related Meetings. During the convention, Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandums of Agreement (MoA) were signed between the private sectors of BIMP-EAGA in multiple fields. The convention attracted more than 200 participants and focused on the five strategic pillars of BIMP-EAGA.
