Bandar Seri Begawan: In an effort to support the role of mosques in enhancing and developing the teachings of Islam, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has provided financial contributions to a number of mosques, suraus, and religious halls nationwide. The ceremony was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, where 71 mosques, suraus, and religious halls received donations totaling $76,000 to facilitate ceremonies and takmir activities throughout the month of Ramadhan this year.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the donations for mosques, suraus, and religious halls in the Brunei Muara District and Belait District were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof. He serves as the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, and the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors.
For the Tutong District and Temburong District, the donations were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health, who serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors. The donations were handed over to the imams and mosque officers to ensure the smooth running of their planned activities.
