Bandar Seri Begawan: To seek blessings and ensure the smooth-running of the Official Opening Ceremony and the First Session of the 21st Legislative Council (LEGCO) Meeting this year, a reading of Surah Yaasin and Doa Selamat took place. The ceremony was conducted at the Surau of the Dewan Majlis Building on the afternoon of 20th February.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, the Speaker of the Legislative Council. Also in attendance was Doctor Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, who serves as the Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council.
