Volkswagen to Recall Over 60,000 US Vehicles Due to Gear Display Issue
Washington: Volkswagen is set to recall 60,490 vehicles in the United States because of a problem that prevents the gear position from being displayed, which could lead to a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not engaged. This recall includes specific models produced between 2021 and 2023, namely the ID.4, Audi Q4 e-Tron, and Q4 e-Tron Sportback, as reported by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to Radio Television Brunei, the auto safety regulator highlighted that the failure to display the gear position is a significant safety concern. Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to ensure that the parking brake is always engaged to prevent any potential rollaway incidents. Volkswagen is expected to notify owners and provide instructions for a solution to correct the issue.
