Bandar seri begawan: An evolution of the fashion world that combines Malay and Japanese culture is now an attraction.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the uniqueness of Malay and Japanese culture inspired a fashion designer from Japan to produce various baju kurung, using Japanese silk. Starting from the Student Exchange Programme at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Aoba Murashita chose to settle in this country to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. By combining Malay-Japanese elements, it further highlights the uniqueness of the dresses produced.
Aiming to produce fashion beyond inspiration, the designs produced from premium Kimono fabrics look exclusive and aesthetic, which further adds to the value of Malayness. This evolution marks a new phase in the creative industry in this country and has the potential to drive sustainable and resilient business growth.
