Bandar Seri Begawan: Two companies and two individuals have been issued compound fines by the Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Brunei Muara District Office for violations under the Miscellaneous Offences Act Chapter 30. Restoran Seri Mama Express was fined $500, while Restoran Haji K.K. Koya dan Anak-Anak Tiga faced a steeper penalty with a $1,000 fine. Additionally, individuals Taufik and Shavanas Muhammed Ayoob were each fined $100.

According to Radio Television Brunei, these fines serve as a warning and a deterrent against non-compliance. The enforcement authorities have made it clear that should the fines remain unpaid, the cases will be escalated to court. Convictions could lead to a penalty not exceeding $9,000 for individuals and $30,000 for companies, in addition to possible imprisonment for up to 12 months or both.
