Hijrah or migration reminds us of the hijrah event of Rasulullah Shallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam and his companions in defending and developing the purity of Islamic teachings. The event not only needs to be remembered, but the true meaning of hijrah needs to be kept alive and exemplified in life in order to always make changes for the better.
The lights of hijrah can also be felt by two new convert families who feel that hijrah really seeps into their souls until they are able to perform the obligatory of Haj and further strengthen their faith. As one of the new converts, Hajah Mariam shared her hijrah or life change after becoming a Muslim.
As Muslims, we need to continue to maintain and increase our faith and piety as well as deepen our understanding of the Islamic religion so that we can continue to get closer to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Change in life from something bad to good, and from good to better is the true meaning of hijrah.
