Basey, Samar, Philippines - A devastating road accident in Basey, Samar, resulted in the deaths of a couple and their 7-year-old son, while their 4-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries.
According to Philippines News Agency, the accident occurred when a car, while overtaking a slow-moving vehicle, collided with a motorcycle carrying the family along a highway in Barangay Iba.
The victims, identified as Ronnie Nuevas, 28, his partner Joyce Cadaingan, 32, and their son, succumbed to multiple head injuries at the scene. Their daughter was seriously injured in the mishap. The driver of the car involved in the accident is now in police custody and faces multiple homicide charges. This incident happened just days after another road accident in Palo, Leyte, claimed the lives of a family of five en route to church when their vehicle was struck by a passenger van.
