Tourism Department Hosts Familiarization Session for Japanese Travel Agents
Bandar Seri Begawan: The Tourism Development Department, in collaboration with tourism stakeholders including Royal Brunei Airlines and local travel and accommodation agents, recently organized a four-day familiarization session for 18 travel agents and media representatives from Japan. This initiative followed the country’s participation in the Japan Tourism Expo last September.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the session involved activities that highlighted the country’s rich heritage and culture. Participants explored the Ulu Temburong National Park, visited the Mendaram Longhouse, and took part in Batik painting activities. They also conducted inspections at several accommodation operators in Temburong, evaluating the quality, convenience, and suitability of services for Japanese customers. This helped the agents identify offerings that align with customer expectations.
A reception and sharing session was held to discuss potential collaborations and gather valuable feedback on customer profiles. The aim was to gain a deeper understanding of the Japanese market, which could lead to better-targeted services and offerings.
