Bandar seri begawan: The delegation assigned to sight the new moon of Zulhijjah 1447 Hijrah has reported that the new moon was not sighted. The team, which included Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, the State Judiciary Department, and the Prime Minister's Office, as well as officers from the Survey Department and the State Mufti Department, conducted their observations in several designated areas within the Brunei Muara District, Tutong District, and Belait District.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the absence of a sighting means that Muslims are encouraged to perform the act of sacrifice following the Aidil Adha Sunat Prayer and during the days of Tasyriq, which fall on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Zulhijjah. These practices are an important part of the religious observance associated with this period.
