Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam will celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Adha on Thursday, the 28th of May 2026. By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this announcement was made to inform the public of the upcoming celebration.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the confirmation of the date follows the traditional Islamic lunar calendar, marking a significant event for the Muslim community in Brunei. Hari Raya Aidil Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the two major Islamic festivals celebrated annually, the other being Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The day commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God, a story revered in Islamic tradition.
