Teachers’ Day Conference Highlights Educational Transformation

Bandar seri begawan: The Teachers’ Day Conference can drive quality and sustainable educational transformation. The conference, held in conjunction with the 35th Teachers’ Day Celebration, acts as a platform for educators to share evidence-based insights and innovative pedagogical practices. The conference focuses on 29 sub-themes categorized under three main cores: ‘Empowering Students for the Future’, ‘Innovating the Education Ecosystem’, and ‘Human Resource Development’. The two-day event is held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

According to Radio Television Brunei, present at the conference was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Minister of Education. Professor Pasi Sahlberg from the University of Melbourne, in his keynote address titled ‘Reimagining Education: Why Now is the Time?’, highlighted the need to implement changes based on international data that points to various systematic challenges identified in today’s education system. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Department of Educator Management, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, and the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.
