Post: Sultan of Brunei Emphasizes Responsibility in National Day Address

Bandar Seri Begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Wadaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, highlighted the importance of understanding independence as a responsibility during his address in conjunction with the 41st Brunei Darussalam National Day. The Sultan's address was broadcast nationwide through radio and television, urging citizens to not only commemorate the occurrence of independence but to also focus on sustaining solidarity and developing a peaceful and prosperous nation.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty began his address by expressing gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala for the opportunity to celebrate Brunei Darussalam's independence, initially achieved on January 1, 1984. The Sultan emphasized that National Day should serve as a moment for citizens and residents to reflect on their individual and collective responsibilities towards the nation.

In his address, the Sultan reiterated the necessity for citizens to view independence as more than an annual celebration. The Monarch stressed that it is a continuous duty to ensure the country remains united and continues its path towards growth and stability.
