According to Radio Television Brunei, the Imam or Prayer Leader emphasized the importance of appreciating the deeper lessons behind the rites of sacrifice. The first lesson highlighted was the cultivation of gratitude towards Allah SWT for His blessings. The second lesson was the inspiration it provides for sacrificing for the benefit of the ummah. The third lesson encourages care and compassion towards fellow Muslims. The fourth lesson involves the teaching of kindness, even towards animals. Lastly, the fifth lesson focuses on training oneself to be sincere and maintain integrity.
