Brunei darussalam: The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI) will enforce new regulatory measures on mobile prepaid SIM card registration. This initiative aims to enhance cybersecurity and mitigate the rising incidents of unlawful activities and scams conducted through calls and Short Messaging Services (SMS) in the country. The re-registration program for mobile prepaid SIM cards in Brunei Darussalam is scheduled to begin on 2nd January 2025 and will run until 31st December 2025. According to Radio Television Brunei, subscribers of mobile prepaid SIM cards must re-register with their respective service providers during this period. The re-registration process will occur in phases, with subscribers being informed via SMS. This requirement affects DST mobile prepaid SIM card subscribers who registered before 1st November 2024, as well as Progresif and Imagine subscribers who registered before 2nd January 2025.
