Reception Ceremony in Honour of His Majesty’s Birthday Celebration
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Alam graced a reception in honour of His Majesty’s 77th birthday celebration. The ceremony hosted by the Diplomatic Corps in Brunei Darussalam was held on 26th August morning, at the Royal Berkshire, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Jerudong.
Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Home Affairs and His Excellency Jassim Ali Abdullah Al Obaidli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to the country as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
His Excellency John Virgoe, British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam as Representative Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, in his welcoming address expressed appreciation the continuous hospitality shown to the Diplomatic corps in the country.
His Majesty received a pasambah in the form of a sword coated in silver from Qatar as an honour to the Monarch.
Also present were His Majesty’s son and sister;
– His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al- Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;
– And Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
