Bandar Seri Begawan: The National Level Nuzul Al-Qur'an celebration was marked by the presentation of prizes to the winners and participants of the National Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Memorisation and Its Understanding for 1446 Hijrah, alongside the MABIMS Member Countries Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Memorisation and its Understanding for 1446 Hijrah. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the awards. The event was also attended by His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by several dignitaries, including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara. Other prominent figures present were the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, and several ministers from the Prime Minister's Office.
The ceremony included the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. The Minister of Religious Affairs highlighted the importance of the Nuzul Al-Qur'an celebration in shaping the Islamic character of a nation that practices Islam as rahmatan lil'alamin, promoting compassion among all citizens and residents.
The Musabaqah featured winners from five categories showcasing their memorisation and understanding of Al-Qur'an. In Category A, for participants aged 13 and below, Dayang Nur Sofiyyah Solehah binti Mohammad Fikri won the first prize. Category B was won by Dayang Nur Abidah Bazilah binti Haji Rosmin. Awang Abdul Matin bin Zulnorein claimed the top spot in Category C. Dayang Nur Kamaliah binti Haji Jahari was victorious in Category D, and Awangku Muhammad Abdul Qadir bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim triumphed in Category E.
The event also highlighted winners from the MABIMS Member Countries Musabaqah. Hanim Mashlahah from Indonesia won the category of memorisation of 10 Juz of Al-Qur'an and its understanding. Muhammad Haikal Al Ghifari from Indonesia emerged as the champion in the category of memorisation of 30 Juz of Al-Qur'an and its understanding.
This year's celebration was organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, the MABIMS Centre for Al-Qur'an Studies and Dissemination, and Imagine Sendirian Berhad.
