Manila — Following the conclusion of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) has called upon the newly elected officials to actively engage in development and peace-building within their communities.
According to Philippines News Agency, the NTF-ELCAC emphasized the crucial role that barangay officials play in the delivery of basic services at the local level, services that have a direct impact on the well-being of residents. The task force lauded barangay leaders as essential in the government's efforts to foster unity, peace, and development.
In addition to their message to barangay officials, the NTF-ELCAC congratulated the newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) leaders, highlighting their vital position in guiding the youth of the Philippines. The task force remarked on the responsibility of the SK officials to act as role models for Filipino youth, steering them towards peaceful nation-building and cultivating patriotism.
With the Barangay Development Program (BDP) as a cornerstone of its strategy, the NTF-ELCAC encouraged BSKE officials, especially those in regions impacted by New People's Army insurgency, to play a proactive part in addressing and solving socio-economic challenges within their jurisdictions. The statement expressed high expectations for the contributions of the new leaders to the Regional Task Force ELCAC, relying on them to uphold their duties and serve the Filipino people.
