Manila: The 5th Coordinating Committee Meeting of Women Parliamentarians of AIPA (WAIPA) was conducted virtually, focusing on the theme "Advancing Gender-Transformative Parliaments Towards a Future-Ready and Inclusive ASEAN Community." This online gathering was organized by the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines. According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dayang Hajah Rosmawatty binti Haji Abdul Mumin, a Member of the Legislative Council, highlighted Brunei Darussalam's commitment to inclusive development, social well-being, and human capital development. These elements are central to the country's agenda, aligning with the vision outlined in Wawasan Brunei 2 RIBU 35. Another Member of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Dayang Chong Chin Yee, shared the nation's achievements in implementing the WAIPA Women's Political Participation and Leadership Framework for 2024-2030, which was approved in October 2024. The meeting also provided a platform for Legislative Council m embers to exchange views and best practices through dialogue sessions. These sessions were enriched by the participation of panel members from various international organizations, offering a diverse perspective on advancing gender-transformative parliaments within the ASEAN community.
