Post: Northern Mindanao Police Seize PHP1.8 Million in Illegal Drugs

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) announced significant results from its anti-drug operations conducted from February 22 to 28, capturing an estimated PHP1.8 million worth of illegal drugs.

According to Philippines News Agency, Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., the PRO-10 director, reported the apprehension of 84 individuals during 80 operations, leading to the seizure of approximately 272.891 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) and 2.54 grams of marijuana. "We will continue to intensify our operations against illegal drugs, gambling, and other criminal activities. Together, let us build a region where everyone can live, work, and do business safely," he stated.

The police force also carried out nine operations against illegal gambling within the region, resulting in 17 arrests and the confiscation of PHP2,945 worth of illegal gambling paraphernalia. Additionally, efforts to apprehend wanted individuals led to the arrest of 81 suspects.

As part of the "Kontra Boga" campaign aimed at curbing loose firearms, PRO-10 executed 52 operations, arresting 15 individuals and seizing 38 small arms along with two light weapons, furthering the regional office's commitment to maintaining public safety and order.
