Post: New Clark City to Host P100-Million Electric Vehicle Super Station

New Clark City - A groundbreaking project for a P100-million electric vehicle (EV) super station, complete with a retail center, is set to be constructed in New Clark City. This development is anticipated to drive government revenue, create local jobs, and increase the metropolitan area's foot traffic.

According to Philippines News Agency, the project will be developed on a one-hectare site leased to Double 11 Properties Corp. BCDA president and chief executive officer Joshua Bingcang and Double 11 president Romeo Siccion signed the lease agreement on Monday, marking the first such partnership in New Clark City for an EV facility of this scale. "The BCDA welcomes Double 11 to New Clark City and offers its full support for the project. With this engagement, we expect economic benefits, such as additional revenues for the government; employment opportunities for the local residents and communities, and most importantly increased foot traffic in New Clark City," stated BCDA vice president for Business Development, Mark Torres, during the signing ceremony.

Double 11 Properties Corp. has committed to investing at least PHP100 million in the first phase of the project. This phase will include the construction of charging terminals for electric vehicles, a mixed-use commercial complex, and various retail support businesses. The company also plans a Phase 2 expansion that would double the investment and the size of the development.

The super station is projected to attract over 200,000 motorists annually and create approximately 500 jobs for the local population. It is also expected to generate around PHP100 million in government revenues annually. "With BCDA, we are bringing our international brand partners here to provide an excellent service to motorists. Using our experience and expertise, we will not only be developing a super station, but also a lifestyle development where people can park, dine, shop, and work," remarked Ren Siccion, Business Development Manager at Double 11.

Bingcang emphasized the strategic importance of the project in the development of New Clark City as a smart, green metropolis poised for the future of electric and eco-friendly vehicles. He highlighted the project's alignment with the city's vision of a '15-minute city' where amenities and facilities are accessible within a short walking or cycling distance.

Double 11 is known for its varied ventures, including a zoo and attraction theme park, industrial parks, and super stations across the Philippines, partnering with international food franchises, retail outlets, and business process outsourcing companies.
