Jerudong: The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Brunei Muara District Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), organized a National Level Donation Presentation Ceremony for Orphans at the Dar-Al Intisar Hall, Jerudong Sports Complex. During the event, 3,061 orphans registered under the Department of Community Development (JAPEM) received donations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the BIBD Board of Directors, alongside Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event also included the presentation of the Excellent Student Encouragement Scheme, donated by BIBD, to 12 orphans who achieved notable results in various examinations, including the 'O' Level Examination, Brunei Higher Certificate of Religious Education, Brunei Religious Education Certificate, and the previous year's Primary School Assessment.
Orphan registration counters are open for two days, beginning on 25th February, at the Sports Hub, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
