Berakas: The Mazhab Syafi’i International Conference continued its proceedings with the presentation of keynote papers addressing contemporary issues related to the mazhab and the digital society. The event took place at the Dewan Musyawarah, International Convention Centre, Berakas, on the afternoon of June 3.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the conference featured the presence of Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, Chief Syar’ie Judge. Six working papers were presented during the session. The topics included discussions on Imam al-Syafi’i, who was known as an ascetic imam and a distinguished scholar contributing significantly to the development of jurisprudence. Additionally, there was a call for higher learning institutions and fatwa bodies to enhance efforts in adapting the digital Mazhab Syafi’i in a systematic and planned manner.
