Post: Maintaining an Inclusive Health System: Priorities Outlined by Minister of Health

Bandar Seri Begawan: Several priorities were explained by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, in the country's aspiration to maintain an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient health system in facing future healthcare challenges.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister highlighted the importance of improving the quality of primary healthcare and services as a crucial aspect in ensuring effective and sustainable public health. Primary healthcare serves as the gatekeeper in the health system, providing the public with comprehensive primary health services at the initial stage.

The second priority mentioned by the Minister is to ensure prudent and cost-effective spending to create a resilient future health system. Despite efforts to manage costs, increasing expenses remain unavoidable due to the rising cost of sophisticated medicines and medical equipment, as well as a growing number of patients suffering from chronic diseases.
