Lucena City: Quezon Towns to Gain Super Health Centers

LUCENA CITY - The municipal government of Agdangan in Quezon province will soon have a Super Health Center (SHC) to address the medical needs of residents. Mayor Rhadam Aguilar announced Saturday that Agdangan will be among the 18 jurisdictions in Quezon province to receive an SHC.

According to Philippines News Agency, the SHCs represent a significant improvement over traditional government-managed health centers, equipped with modern diagnostic facilities and more patient amenities. Current construction is underway in neighboring towns like Sariaya, Tayabas City, Dolores, Tiaong, and Tagkawayan. The SHC program is an initiative of Senator Christopher Go. Additionally, 2,000 residents received PHP2,500 each from the Local Government Support Fund on Friday, with Lucena Mayor Mark Alcala leading the distribution. Beneficiaries included urban poor residents, barangay health workers, and contractual city government workers. Furthermore, 500 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment's Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program received their salaries after 10 days of work.
