Light Exercise Encouraged During Fasting Month in ‘Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat’ Programme
Bandar Seri Begawan: Light exercise such as walking or recreational cycling during the fasting month is recommended as it will not burden individuals. The best times for these activities are after the Fardhu Subuh prayer and after the Sunat Tarawih prayer. These exercises can help increase energy levels and metabolism, reduce stress, and maintain a healthy weight. This advice was shared during a tazkirah or lecture as part of the ‘Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat’ programme at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan on the morning of 16th February.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the tazkirah titled ‘Recreation and Nutrition While Fasting in Ramadhan’ also highlighted the importance of staying hydrated by drinking enough water during Sahur and breaking the fast. It advised consuming foods rich in protein and fibre for sustained energy and avoiding caffeinated drinks to prevent dehydration. The programme aims to encourage the public to consistently participate in performing Fardhu Subuh congregational prayers at the mosque.
