Launching Of YDC Carnival

The trainees of the Youth Development Centre, PPB received recognition in “The Brunei Book of Records” after producing the Longest Swiss Roll measuring 84.03 meters and the longest Sushi Roll at 75.79 meters. The Certificate of Recognition Presentation took place at the YDC Carnival Mini Expo at Dewan Muhibbah, Berakas, yesterday afternoon.

 

The three-day carnival is a platform for the PPB Entrepreneurship Programme for the Trainees to explore their potential and creativity in the field of entrepreneurship in order to generate income independently by introducing their products and services, in line with the skills acquired throughout their studies at the Centre. The carnival was launched by by Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, Permanent Secretary for Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

 

At the event, visitors witnessed the making of the Longest Sushi Roll prepared by PPB Level 2 Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts trainees and the Longest Swiss Roll prepared by PPB Level 2 Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts Patisserie trainees. Also held was the Presentation of PPB Community Love Programme Participation Certificates to 6 identified agencies and strategic partners. The programme has been carried out since 2019, by combining several community charity projects involving the trainees, teaching staff and residents of the Centre in helping the target group or community in need.

 

The carnival is joined by 48 entrepreneurs comprising Youth Development Programme Trainees for the 2022 session, vendors from PPB Entrepreneur Alumni, Community Programme participants and YDC Lights’ On Program participants as well as local entrepreneurs.
