MANILA—Kings' Montessori School clinched the bronze medal in the 2024 Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League, defeating National University-Nazareth School in a closely contested match at Adamson University Gym on Sunday. The final scores were 25-18, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-22 in favor of Kings' Montessori.

According to Philippines News Agency, who stepped in for head coach Onyok Getigan currently in Japan, the team's performance was a direct result of their dedicated preparation and hard work. Shekaina Lleses led the Vikings with an impressive 28 points, with significant contributions in the crucial fourth quarter. Her sister, Shahanna Lleses, added 14 points, while teammates Justine Decena and Kriska Gindap scored seven and six points, respectively.

On the opposing side, Diza Berrayo scored 22 points for the Lady Bullpups, who matched their fourth-place finish from the previous year. Teammates Joseline Salazar and Mardy Tayag also played pivotal roles, contributing 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The event also featured other matches determining the final standings. Bacolod Tay Tung and Adamson University were still vying for the gold medal at the time of reporting. In other results, Far Eastern University-Diliman overcame Arellano University in straight sets—25-18, 25-23, 25-19—to secure fifth place, with Riane Alonzo, Shiela Pascual, and Clarisses Loresco leading the scoring for FEU.

Additionally, Bethel Academy College secured seventh place by defeating Lyceum of the Philippines University, with Shane Reterta scoring a match-high 27 points. Philip Gancia and Charle Rutaquio were the top scorers for the Junior Lady Pirates.

The tournament highlighted the competitive spirit and skill of young volleyball talents, setting the stage for future contests in the league.
