Khatam Al-Qur’an Ceremonies Held Across Several Mosques in Brunei


Bandar Seri Begawan: In conjunction with the month of Ramadhan, multiple Khatam Al-Qur’an ceremonies were held across various mosques in Brunei, bringing together community members and religious leaders for these significant events.



According to Radio Television Brunei, one such ceremony took place at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque in Kampung Rimba on the afternoon of 19th March. The event included a presentation of donations to 25 orphans from nearby villages, which was conducted by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Zalani Bin Haji Ismail, the Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau.



Another ceremony was organized by the Islamic Da’wah Centre, in collaboration with the Da’wah Dissemination Section (Counselling), the Reintegration Centre of the Prisons Department, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Aftercare Support Association (AFSA). This event took place at the Baitulmal Housing Surau in Kampung Selayun and was attended by Awang Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Yassin, Acting Director of Prisons. The event also featured a Tazkirah or talk titled ‘Kelebihan Membaca Al-Qur’an’.



Additionally, the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Takmir Committee in Kampung Manggis/Madang held a similar ceremony on the afternoon of 19th March. The event was graced by Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, a member of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council and Advisor to the mosque takmir committee. Donations were also presented to 16 orphans during the ceremony.
