International Counselling Symposium Explores Practical Skills and Mental Health Strategies.
Bandar Seri Begawan: In the afternoon, the International Counselling Symposium continued with workshops featuring interactive sessions aimed at enhancing practical counselling skills, mental health awareness, and crisis intervention tailored to community needs.
According to Radio Television Brunei, three workshops were conducted simultaneously. The first, titled “Counselling Skills for Grassroots Leaders,” focused on teaching fundamental skills necessary for effective counselling sessions, emphasizing communication techniques between presenters and listeners.
Another workshop, “Community Mental Health Support: Integrating Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) into Practice,” provided insights into applying CBT in community settings to address issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress more effectively.
The third workshop, “Therapeutic Relationship as the Basis of Ideal Self Formation among Counselling Practitioners,” centered on the importance of therapeutic relationships in facilitating positive change
for clients.
