Kuala Belait: An Iban family embraced Islam in a conversion ceremony held at the Kuala Belait Dakwah Unit Office on the morning of January 15th. The ceremony marked a significant spiritual transition for the family, as they embraced their new faith in the presence of community members and religious leaders.
According to Radio Television Brunei, 22-year-old Rebecca Perynna anak Badindang adopted the new name Nur Wawa 'Asyraa Uqaira binti Abdullah. Her two children also received new names following the conversion, becoming known as Nur Raqi'sya Delisha binti Abdullah and Muhammad Raa'fael Daemyn bin Abdullah.
Yang Berhormat Awang Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, a Member of the Legislative Council, attended the ceremony, underscoring the event's importance. The presence of such a prominent figure highlighted the community's support for the family's decision and the broader acceptance of religious diversity in the region.
