Bandar Seri Begawan – The Ministry of Health in Brunei Darussalam reaffirmed its commitment to achieving the targets set in the 'ASEAN Declaration of Commitment on HIV and AIDS: Fast Tracking and Sustaining HIV and AIDS Responses to End the AIDS Epidemic by 2030'. This commitment aims to provide quality and equitable services to individuals at high risk and those infected with HIV, without discrimination or stigma.
According to Radio Television Brunei, As outlined by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, during the HIV/AIDS Symposium for Grassroots Leaders, confidentiality for HIV testing is a cornerstone of medical services in the country, backed by legislation protecting the confidentiality of HIV patients. The symposium, held at the Ministry of Health and in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council, included various briefings on HIV and AIDS. It was attended by legislative members, district officers, village heads, and leaders from non-governmental associations. The event coincided with World AIDS Day, themed ''Biar Masyarakat Mempimpin'' or "Let Society Lead".
