His Majesty Attends Wreath Laying Ceremony at Monument to the People’s Heroes

Beijing: At noon, His Majesty attended the State Luncheon hosted by the President of the People’s Republic of China. His Majesty then attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes, located in Tian’anmen Square.

According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Sun Weidong, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; Han Zirong, Vice Chairwoman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; and Liang Feng, Deputy Commander of Beijing Garrison. His Majesty proceeded to lay a wreath at the monument, which was completed in 1958 to honor those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the People’s Republic of China during the 19th and 20th centuries.
