Brunei and China Sign Eight Memorandums of Understanding
Bandar Seri Begawan: His Majesty and His Excellency witnessed the signing ceremonies of eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Brunei and China, marking a significant step in bilateral relations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the MoUs encompass various areas of cooperation. These include a judicial cooperation agreement between the Supreme People’s Court of China and the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam, and a bilateral cooperation plan to promote the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative. Furthermore, MoUs were signed between the National Development and Reform Commission of China and Brunei’s Ministry of Finance and Economy, focusing on economic development exchange and cooperation.
Additional agreements were made between the Ministry of Commerce of China and Brunei’s Ministry of Finance and Economy on trade promotion cooperation. Cultural ties were strengthened with an MoU between China’s National Press and Publication Administration and Brunei’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports on the translation and publication of classics.
Moreover, media collaboration was formalized through MoUs between Xinhua News Agency and the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei, as well as between China Media Group and Brunei’s Prime Minister’s Office. Lastly, a protocol to extend the MoU between the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board and the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government was also signed.
