Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced through the Syariah Affairs Department that the Halal Food Control Division has revoked the Halal Certificate for R.M.S Ice Cream Ventures, located in Kampung Kilanas. This decision, effective immediately, involves four vehicles associated with the business.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the revocation took place under Section 6 (3) of the Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order, 2005, as a result of routine monitoring conducted by the Enforcement Officer of the Halal Food Control Division. During an inspection at the premises, officers discovered a brush made of pig bristles utilized in the preparation of ice cream cones sold from the vehicles. The brush's status was verified through laboratory analysis by the Scientific Services Department, Ministry of Health.
The incident is under investigation as per the Halal Certification and Halal Label Order, 2005. If found guilty, the parties involved could face a prison term not exceeding two years, a fine not exceeding BND8,000, or both.
