Flag Handover Ceremony Marks Start of 48th SSEAYP 2024.


Berakas: Every participant of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program, SSEAYP are young leaders who will bring vision and inspiration for a better future, not only for themselves but also for the nation. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports also reminded the participants to always uphold the good name and honour of the country by adhering firmly to the principles of Malay Islamic Monarchy, which forms the foundation of Brunei’s national identity. Speaking at the Handover Ceremony of the Brunei Darussalam Flag to the 48th SSEAYP 2024, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad also emphasised that team spirit, mutual respect, and a desire to serve are essential elements that will lead towards success. The ceremony took place at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the national flag was handed over to the head of delegation. The function coincided with the handover of flight tickets by His Excellency Maeda Toru, Ambassado
r Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam. The 48th SSEAYP will run for 38 days starting the 4th of November in Tokyo, Japan.
