Manila Philippines - Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of the Philippines due to the easterlies, as reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday. The areas affected include the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, According to Philippines News Agency, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Quezon. In these regions, moderate to heavy rains may lead to flash floods and landslides.
In contrast, isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon (amihan) will continue to affect Batanes and Babuyan Islands. PAGASA forecaster Patrick del Mundo stated that the rest of the country is expected to experience generally fair weather, with isolated rain showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening. He also mentioned that there is no low pressure area detected inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, indicating a low probability of a tropical cyclone affecting the country until the weekend.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will persist in Northern Luzon. For the rest of the Philippines, light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas are forecasted, as per PAGASA's latest weather update.
