Post: Commitments to Global Maritime Governance

Bandar Seri Begawan: The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD), representing His Majesty’s Government, has submitted the instrument of accession to the Facilitation (FAL) Convention at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters in the United Kingdom.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the presentation was officiated by Retired Captain Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive of the MPABD, who handed over the instrument to Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the IMO. During his opening remarks, the Chief Executive emphasized Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in maritime facilitation. His Excellency Retired First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the United Kingdom, was also in attendance.
