Cloudy Skies and Scattered Rains Forecasted Across the Philippines

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts cloudy skies and scattered rains across the Philippines on Sunday. The southwest monsoon, locally known as ‘habagat,’ is expected to affect various regions including Luzon and parts of Visayas.

According to Philippines News Agency, the monsoon will impact Luzon, including Metro Manila, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan. Additionally, the Ilocos Region, Western Visayas, and the Negros Island Region will experience similar weather conditions. These areas are likely to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, raising concerns about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau also indicated that the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious as flash floods or landslides might occur during severe weather conditions.

Furthermore, PAGASA reported that light to moderate winds from the southeast to southwest will prevail across the country, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate.

Sunrise was recorded at 5:42 a.m., and sunset is expected at 6:21 p.m. Citizens are urged to stay updated on the latest weather reports and take necessary precautions during this rainy period.
