Bandar Seri Begawan: The Multilateral Maritime Security Workshop, led by the Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the U.S. Department of Defence, concluded today with a closing ceremony. The four-day workshop brought together 13 officials from Brunei Darussalam’s Internal Security Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Maritime and Port Authority, and Department of Immigration and National Registration, along with over 20 counterparts from Malaysia and Indonesia.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the workshop guided participants through focused scenarios and facilitated discussions to strengthen the participating countries’ capabilities to identify, investigate, and mitigate risks pertaining to weapons of mass destruction and maritime issues. The successful conclusion of the workshop highlighted the collaborative efforts to address regional maritime security challenges and a shared commitment to upholding maritime security in the Indo-Pacific Region.
