Class 3 License Valid Across ASEAN Member States

Bandar Seri Begawan: The driving license issued in Brunei Darussalam is now recognized for use across ASEAN countries without the need for obtaining a new one. Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, explained that the Class 3 license is acknowledged among ASEAN member states.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the minister also advised drivers to obtain the international driving permit recognized under the Convention on Road Traffic 1949 under the United Nations. This permit allows drivers to operate vehicles in 103 countries that are part of the convention, including Brunei Darussalam. Drivers are further advised to be mindful of the laws and regulations of the countries they visit.
