Cebu City Prepares for Palarong Pambansa 2024 with Facilities Near Completion




Cebu City, Philippines — With the Palarong Pambansa 2024 set to open on July 6, Cebu City’s acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia announced on Wednesday that the sports facilities, including the track oval and billeting quarters, are nearly ready to welcome over 1,000 delegates per delegation.



According to Philippines News Agency, the final preparations involve clearing scaffoldings and debris at some of the 20 billeting quarters designated for the event. Each delegation will include 700 student-athletes and 300 staff members, who will be accommodated in various public schools throughout the city during the week-long event.



The mayor expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work at the Cebu City Sports Center, which will host the opening ceremonies and other key events. He noted that construction of the track oval is 97 percent complete and is scheduled for final blessings on June 28, ensuring all facilities will be fully operational in time for the national games.
