Caraga, Philippines - The Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) reported the arrest of 1,730 individuals for various local ordinance violations during a series of operations conducted from November 5 to 11. Major Jennifer Omiter, PRO-13's information chief, indicated that the majority of apprehensions were related to traffic and curfew violations.
According to Philippines News Agency, Omiter revealed in a phone interview that all curfew violators were minors. The PRO-13 Regional Operations Division's records showed that 1,579 were apprehended for traffic violations, 87 minors for curfew violations, 22 for drinking and smoking in public places, three for roaming shirtless, and 39 for other disobedience cases. The majority of arrests were made in Agusan del Norte, followed by Agusan del Sur, Butuan City, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands.
