Brunei Darussalam Undergoes Fourth Trade Policy Review.
Geneva: The World Trade Organization (WTO) conducted the Fourth Trade Policy Review (TPR) of Brunei Darussalam from 27th to 29th November 2024. This review, held in Geneva, Switzerland, is part of a regular exercise mandated by the WTO, wherein the trade and related policies of member countries are examined and evaluated periodically.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Brunei Darussalam delegation was led by Dr. Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, the Permanent Secretary for Economy, Trade and Industry at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The TPRs for Brunei Darussalam are typically conducted every seven years, following the WTO’s standard review cycle for developing countries. Additionally, Her Excellency Dayangku Mazlizah Pengiran Hajii Mahalee, Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in Geneva, was also present during the review. The TPR serves to monitor significant developments that may affect the global trading system.
