Post: Brunei Author Honored with Southeast Asia Write Award

TUTONG DISTRICT — A distinguished local author has been awarded the prestigious Southeast Asia Write Award in a ceremony that highlights his significant contributions to literature.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Dr. Chong Ah Fok's extensive body of work, which he has developed since the 1970s, earned him this honor. The recognition was formally announced during the Mengagai or Informing Ceremony held at Kampung Batang Mitus. Dr. Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, led the ceremony, which serves to appreciate and notify authors of their recognition.

The Southeast Asia Write Award underscores the commitment of Brunei to fostering literary talent and celebrating the cultural contributions of its authors on both a national and regional stage.
