Bandar Seri Begawan: An inclusive approach, especially in rural areas, has been identified as being able to reduce the stigma towards mental health issues. The effort was touched upon in the 'Program Sangkut: Pengenalan Asas Kaunseling bagi Belia-Belia Kampung dan Mukim'. Organised by the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils and Youth, IMTIYAZ, in collaboration with CureHeart Brunei and Ali Yusri Aspire Group, A.Y.A.G, the programme took place on 21st April morning at the Big Begawan Bolkiah Community Development Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the programme was officiated by Yang Berhormat Awang Amran bin Haji Maidin, a Member of the Legislative Council. The 3-day basic counseling skills training programme is attended by 30 participants for each session. The programme, among others, aims to enhance the efficiency of community leaders in providing emotional support to individuals experiencing psychological stress and promote the cultivation of empathy and open communication values among the community.
