Bacolod City Police Office Launches Mascots to Foster Community Safety

In Bacolod City, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has introduced two life-sized mascots, aimed at enhancing community safety and embodying the office’s recognition as the country’s Best City Police Office for the year 2023.

According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative, named “B-Mascot,” which stands for “Bacolod-Making A Safe Community with Outstanding and Trustworthy Police,” was launched at the BCPO grounds on Saturday with personnel in attendance. The mascots, Patrolwoman Inasal and Patrolman MassKara, represent the city’s renowned cultural festivals and are part of efforts to strengthen police-community relations.

The project draws inspiration from Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s vision for a peaceful and progressive Bacolod City. Col. Aliño, in a statement on Monday, highlighted the project’s goal to build positive relationships between the police force and the community by spreading happiness and a sense of unity and pride connected to Bacolod’s cultural heritage.

Aliño emphasized that the friendly gestures and interactions of the mascots are designed to spread happiness and create an atmosphere of joy, particularly among underprivileged children who may lack regular entertainment or leisure activities. The B-Mascot project will bring these mascots directly to community events, aiming to bring smiles to children’s faces.

Furthermore, the BCPO believes that the presence of Patrolwoman Inasal and Patrolman MassKara will offer a unique opportunity for the city’s police force to engage more intimately with the community. The mascots are expected to serve as ambassadors of trust and a positive representation of law enforcement to the residents. Col. Aliño expressed that through joy and engagement, the project underscores BCPO’s dedication to community welfare and peace.
